The NB 2000 series are fun, clunky, and yet comfortable. No, they are not trimmed in fine leather or suede like your NB 99x shoes but they are much less expensive and as a lifestyle shoe they are great. I have several pairs of 2000’s in various colors and trim patterns and I really enjoy wearing them. They fit to size, are well made, and come in a dazzling array of colors ranging from conservative to outlandish! Try a pair. I think you will like them,
