I bought the item about 1 month ago. Comparing with the previous V11, the suction power is stronger and 2-types head function are very useful for my lifestyle. I knew the size is bigger and heavier than V11, but using 20-30 min, the weight would be annoying for some people. Overall, I am satisfied with Gen5 performance.
This is my third Dyson and they have all excelled in keeping my house clean with two large dogs. The new Dyson Gen5outsize is the best of the litter! Scary how much fine dust, hair etc. this vacuum exposes and picks up! Great job Dyson!
Very powerful however it's heavy very heavy. At a point that I was thinking of returning it. If it was not for the weight i would have rate it 5 stars.
i wish there was a water washable shop vac. the electric panel stopped working after rinsing the filter and cannister and drying for 24 hours. hoping to dry 2 more days to see if it works. lasted about 2 mos. heavy drywall vacumming, porch, mold remediation, pets, everything. expensive for what it does, but i can afford replacement
I bought the Gen5Outsize, mainly for the larger head and dust compartment. I was very disappointed to find that the head with the green laser light is standard size, not wider. Also because of the wider dust compartment I can not use it well under furnitures, like beds. If the head would be the way that I could turn it 90 degrees sideways, that would solve that problem. I also would like an extension pipe to allow me to vacuum in narrow spaces, like next to the fridge or behind my fire place. Also the plastic holder / charger for the wall is not very user friendly, to get it in and out. Several times I even got the cleaner stuck. Run time and suction is good.
I would like to know if it’s normal I have owned several Dyson cordless vacuums and this one is very loud . Could something be wrong with it ?
We have had it about two weeks now. We love it. Strong suction and large capacity make it easy to use. The Double battery packs are a great idea as well easy swap out while using it runs out of juice.
I like the vacuum but i was unable to return the extra attachments I purchased.... even though they are unused and in unopened boxes.
After owning numerous vacuum cleaners, this is the best!
Broke in about a month...not happy that a thousand dollar vacuum is built so cheaply
