High Sierra Freewheel Pro Wheeled Backpack

This is a very good quality backpack- although I confess I did get it on sale, so possibly at the original price point I would have had different expectations. I purchased this bag for my child who has a lot of stuff to carry back and forth to school, and so far it's worked out well. The fabric and other materials are good quality and feel sturdy. It has a good amount of pockets, although none in the main compartment, and only one water bottle pocket- which is fine as far as I'm concerned, but just FYI. The straps are all nicely padded as is most of the bag, except for the back of the bag where the carriage element is, which I can see being a problem if you are carrying a laptop in there. Another review mentioned it hurts to use in backpack mode but I admit we haven't had much chance to test this. The pull handle works very smoothly as do the wheels; my elementary school kid is able to pull and roll it with ease. As another review pointed out, the straps do get stuck in the wheels, but I didn't find this to be a huge issue; they are relatively easy to tuck into the back pocket, but again I can see how this would be annoying especially if you plan on using it as a backpack often. There is a strap on top that allows you to pick up the bag and again it feels very solid and sturdy. Only drawback is that it seems to be on the heavier side as far as bags go. That's not necessarily a point against it, only it's a bit harder for a kid to pick up if they have to go up stairs and such, so for that reason I wouldn't recommend this particular bag for very young kids. I didn't buy it for travel purposes but I can see it being great as a carry-on/weekender bag. All in all though, a very good bag, highly recommend! In summary- PROS Good quality/sturdy/well built Large bag with lot of storage compartments Solid straps Smooth handle Wheels solid and roll smoothly (so far) Well-padded straps CONS/CAVEATS Only one water bottle pocket Straps get stuck in wheels unless tucked in No padding in the back of main compartment May hurt back if used in backpack mode On the heavier side

I love the color, the pockets and lots of spaces. What I don’t like is that when you roll your backpack, it drags the straps. I don’t want it dirty so I have to tuck it each time I roll it. When I use it as a backpack, the bottom part is really hard so it hurts my lower back.

This essay replacement the previous one bought in Macy same brand at year 2013 was better because the wheels had thick teeth. We loved that the inside laptop pocket was padded. We love that too. This one there is no padded pocket for laptop. It’s just thin nylon. It’s no protection. The wheels looks cheap. The shoulder strap is hooked to a little triangle plastic fastener which is not going to last it’s going to break eventually this is Pauline May, but since is the only decent one around that we can find and Macy sells it we have no choice to get it and the price was not cheap either High Sierra is a good brand but I feel the one I bought in 2013 was better fortunate the wheel broke. I had to replace it other than that. No complaint much. Haven’t used it yet so I don’t know how it’s gonna be.

Buy as a replace. Strap weak build Laptop pocket is thin nylon not padded ,wheels no teeth compare to the one wheel broke after 15 yrs in use.

I’m satisfied so far. I would be more than happy if the wheels could be changed to quieter ones, because they are a little too noisy.

After a year the wheels no longer works. Which they where made better, like rubber and not plastic

Love the design Gave a demo to family and they wanted to know where've learned to display an object so well.

It’s super light and I don’t have to use any strength to pull/push it!

I saw this backpack with wheeled from the tour group we traveled last week, that’s what I need to avoid pulling over my shoulder to hurt my back. Can’t wait to use it soon

Excellent bag. But I find the wheels to be too noisy when rolling.
