This isn’t a review after wearing them around the neighborhood or testing them for a few miles. These shoes were tested where it matters — day after day on the Camino de Santiago. What impressed me most was the combination of comfort, cushioning, stability and grip. Even after hours of walking with a backpack, the Fresh Foam X cushioning helped keep my feet comfortable, while the Vibram outsole gave me confidence on uneven terrain. The Camino is a serious test for footwear. One day you’re walking pavement and cobblestones; the next you’re dealing with dirt, rocks, hills and wet sections. The Hierro v9 handled the variety exceptionally well. After 230+ km, they earned my trust. 🏆 My verdict: If I were preparing for another Camino tomorrow, the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 would be one of the first things going into my gear setup. Comfortable and fits perfectly. It’s wide enough a lot of support and a lot of cushion.
Great balance between soft and controlled. I was expecting it to be too soft like some of the high rise running shoes but it’s been great. Wish there were more colorways. I immediately swapped some grey khaki laces onto mine.
50 plus miles on shoes so far. They provide excellent traction. Foam sole absorbs sharp AZ trail rocks and thin Redwoods surface roots. Plastic/rubber around toes protects toes well and provides support during steep declines. Yes I would buy them again.
It took a few times walking to really get comfortable but it quickly became fantastic. I walk a quicker more comfortable pace. It motivates me to walk farther and more often
A trail runner so comfortable and good looking I where it as a lifestyle shoe. I'd go wide for hiking or more secure fit, and extra-wide for lifestyle comfortable fit.
Great Looking Shoe, but just a hair snug on fit. Still Very Comfortable, and Would order again.
Shoes are really comfortable and have been great on hikes. Recently I have started to use them to play golf while walking the course. Try it if you like comfort and grip.
