I unfortunately followed advice from "the internet" regarding the selection of a size. My foot has gotten longer over the past 40 of my 64 years, but I am still a narrow. So I don't know for certain if this shoe gave me agonizing pain on the soles of my feet because of poor design, or because of my poor selection of size. Given the fact that there is no insert that could be replaced, I believe that the manufacturer just cheaped out.
Soles aren't as grippy as I hoped and I can see them wearing quickly, but the shoes fit great and are well made for my needs.
I like these shoes and have worn the apron toe version for a log time. Now however, with the 'stacked heel' and slightly lower at the back of the heel my heel doesn't sit into the shoe as much and the top of the backstay does not cover the back of my heel but rubs on it, possibly right where the achilles tendon attaches. It felt ok at first but then got really uncomfortable after standing and walking for a while.
Husband loves them so much, he wants this brand in work boots. He keeps saying how comfortable they are. Dress shoes have always been painful for him, but not these shoes.

Comfortable and fit as expected. The square toe is new to me but very comfortable.
