The toe box is tight. I have purchased many pair of 990 and have always been satisfied with the size 8 and width of 4E so these were a surprise. I normally buy a pair months ahead so they are available when I want them. I purchased these in March and started wearing them late September so well beyond the 60 day return policy. I will not buy the 990 again unless they change back to v4 or v5 comfort.

Gift for dad: Bought for dad, he says they are so comfortable. He's recently had problems with his feet and he loves walking. These have been great for him.

These shoes feel great and have great support. My only complaint is that they seem to lose their comfort over time. I have an old pair of 587 shoes that still feel great after having them for years. I'm not talking about the comfort lost because of daily wear. I have a feeling that the foam in these shoes decomposes simply over time as opposed to usage. Is 'planned obsolescence' in play here? I said it was a 'feeling'. I have no evidence to back this up. The shoes just get more and more 'loose' feeling in spite of my tightening the laces. Just saying.
