Fit and size were a little better than the Redmond. Very comfortable to start with. After just 3 months the heel support is gone and the stability is poor. Much worse than the Redmond. Also seem to be noticeably hotter than the Redmond Waterproof.
I loved the style, flexibility, and construction of these shoes, but unfortunately, the toe box was not roomy enough for my feet. My husband has a pair and loves them, but his toes are nicely angled whereas my toes are more like Hobbit feet. I found what I needed in a pair of Moab 3 shoes.
While Columbia claims that the shoe is waterproof, this absolute claim would make it impossible for your feet to breathe. Some parts of the shoe can be declared as waterproof, but the canvas mesh allows your feet to breathe (less sweating, fewer odors). They are comfortable and the soles do not slip and slide on our wet porcelain tiles.
Shoes felt a little hard at first but became more comfortable as I wore them. I needed a new pair of waterproof walking shoes and these are fine.
It didn't look like I was thinking it would look. I didn't even try it. I just put it back in the box and I am returning it now.

Way too narrow I normally wear a D width and these were supposed to be E.
Great shoes and a bit tough to break in but once there, they are fantastic. If you buy this shoe, wear it...you will not be sorry.

The problem is that the wrong shoe size was in the box. It was an 8.5 not the 13 I ordered
