FuelCell SuperComp Elite v5

First off, I am not your typical long distance runner. In fact, I only run 2-3 times a week, 3 miles would be considered my "long" run. Having said that, I am more into strength training and I use the jogging part of my workouts just to get out and get a little cardio in. My pace is not fast at all, avg, 10m/mile. These shoes are crazy light, even for a chubbier guy like me(5'5", 185lbs)it appears to force me or propel me forward. I got used to it right away though and after running in these things a few times, I do not want to run in any other style of shoes. These aren't cheap, so I understand these probably are way overkill for what I need them to do, but at the current sale price, plus the discount, I wanted to give these a try. I am very happy with it's performance, fit and feel, and the cool color scheme, doesn't hurt either. I would not work out in the gym with these, and they actually feel awkward just to stand or even walk in them. But man, take them for a descent run, and these bad boys shine.

These shoes have become my favorite for almost everything. I do hard hitting 1 minute speed intervals, threshhold and tempo runs, and even my easy runs. They strike the perfect balance of energy return and protection.

They're very soft. I wish they were a little more firm although I know they're a running shoe / super shoe. They're still good for speed walks for sure.

These shoes helped me run faster and lighter on my feet. If you’ve been putting in the miles, grab a pair and enjoy running in a faster lane.

Great show, comfortable, good quality, carbon plated

I’ve been purchasing these shoes for my two sons ever since the Elite v4, and they absolutely love them! Both of my boys run cross country and track, along with a few 5Ks, 10Ks, and even half marathons. They refuse to train in anything else! These shoes have become their go-to for every run and race. We couldn’t be happier with them!

Not great for heel strikers. I realized that on my first pre-race lazy warm up run. However, as soon as I leaned forward at my ankles to transition to mid foot striking, the shoe performed superbly. Definitely fits true to size. I ignored the "fits true to size" reports and ordered a half size up. The shoe was big on me. Fortunately, I was able to pull it snug without deforming the shoe.

I’ve used these for on road/off road races and they do very well due to the tread that no other “Super Shoe” has. This is my versatile “go to” shoe for shorter races. Comfort, Speed and good Pop!! Thanks New Balance!

Fit true to size. Such a great shoe for fast and race days

It had been 3 years since I bought a new shoe - I don't put on the miles like I used to marathoning these days. So I was behind on tech, this is the first shoe I've owned with carbon fiber plate tech and a really spongy heel. And holy cow! My first run was amazing! I shave a minute off my pace, recovery seemed easier / joint impact lower, and every run since has been great - there was no time needed to break them in. I also love that NB has a wide shoe, which I need - and the full color options are still available in wide. I want a pair just for day to day as they are that comfortable. Worth the spend!
