Essie Gel Couture Top Coat

I have an acrylate allergy, I'm allergic to gel & acrylic nail products. I purchased this top coat because it's very highly rated and often recommended in lacquer communities! But unfortunately an ingredient in this top coat triggered my acrylate allergy and gave me contact dermatitis, so I can't use this product at all. Even with that aside, this top coat is not the best imo. It doesn't seem to be any thicker, glossier or more "gel-like" than any other quick dry top coat. It doesn't dry nearly as fast as some other quick dry top coats, and it shrinks considerably. Especially at the tips of my nails which is frustrating because I type a lot at work, and I need my tips to stay capped. It's also very annoying and gimmicky that the bottle is frosted, there's no reason for it and you can never see how much top coat is left in the bottle! I wouldn't recommend this topcoat honestly, there are many other much better quick dry top coats out there for a similar price.

Checked reviews here as I was gifted Essie 1 and 2. Nail polish lifted in one day. Thought I had to use a lamp to seal. Waste of money.

I've bought 2 bottles of this color over the past couple years, and let me tell you, it's my favorite color! Not only does it have long lasting stay and longevity, but I get more compliments on this color than anything I've ever worn. The color is gorgeous, and edgy without it being black. I love it, but only wish I could find it easier in stores lately.

I have used so many Essie gel colors, but this one is awful. The formula is horrid. What happened??? I’ve never done such a bad manicure! I do my nails religiously and I’ve never had such blotchy, bubbly nails. I need to take it off immediately and throw this in the trash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gel by Essie liquid diamond nail polish is beautiful, giving a lovely gloss and shimmer that catches the light perfectly. I love the sleek bottle shape, and the formula dries down nicely. While one coat is a bit sheer, two coats provides the perfect coverage. It lasted almost a full week for me, with minor chipping only starting around day six.

This topcoat goes on so smoothly and dries very quickly. It looks better as it sets and feels hard and durable I can’t wait to see how long it lasts!
