Donna Karan New York Women's Long Sleeve Mock Neck Pleated Maxi Dress with Belt

Is it beautiful? Yes. Elegant? Absolutely. Did I feel like a queen? Yes… until I turned sideways and looked in the mirror. 😂 I have to give Donna Karan credit: nothing has gotten me off my couch and into Pilates quite like this dress. So, in that regard, thank you, Donna. I’m about 5’4”–5’5”, and although the dress is gorgeous, the proportions simply didn’t work on my frame. This isn’t something a higher heel could fix .. the shoulder-to-waist-to-hip proportions and length felt designed for a much taller woman. And somehow my relatively small tummy suddenly looked VERY important. Then I tried the belt. I actually burst out laughing. On the positive side, the upper half is elegant and made my shoulders look slim. The fabric, pleating and overall look are sophisticated. So no disrespect to Donna Karan or this gorgeous dress. If you’re tall and it works for your proportions, girl, you have my blessing. But if you’re around 5’4” like me and have even a tiny tummy, think twice.

Beautiful dress and drape. Love the way in which the seams were cut to provide a drape that provides shape while not being body hugging. The belt is a unique shape that accents the sophistication of the dress.
