Donna Karan New York Women's Floral-Print Velvet Burnout A-Line Midi Dress

I bought this dress for my nephew’s fall wedding. I was very happy to finally find a dress I liked and that looked good on me. It is very flattering and comfortable. I ordered a size 6 and 8 and ended up keeping the size 6. Beautiful fabric and a flattering cut, I got a lot of compliments. One flaw with this dress was that the side zipper stuck out where it started at the hip. I used fabric tape to try to get it to lie flat. It kind of worked, but I figured no one would really notice because everyone would be focused on the lovely young bride and her gorgeous friends. I liked everything else about the dress. When I tried on the size 8, the weight of the buttons on the back of the neck made the fabric fall away from the neck, which looked odd. Didn’t have that issue with the size 6. The 8 also didn’t have the zipper problem. Possibly some quality control issues. But overall, I really like the dress, and felt confident wearing it. I look forward to having a chance to wear it again. FYI, I am 58 years old, 5’6”, 145 lbs.

I love the dress feel and look, beautiful theme of colors but side zipper sticking out that makes a dress little odd while wearing it, not sure if I want to keep it or return it, still thinking also, I wish arm holes were little smaller!

I bought this dress to wear to both a wedding and a funeral, and it was perfect for both occasions! Beautiful colors, and the velvet flowers were so gorgeous! I have been stopped several times by total strangers to compliment the dress! I typically wear a size 6, but bought it in both a 4 and a 6, just in case! I ended up wearing the 4- it fit perfectly! I had read the reviews regarding the zipper situation on the side, and I could see it being “slightly” noticeable, but it was not noticeable enough for me to return. My only feedback would be that the neck is almost too loose? So the buttons collapsed , and in the picture it looked stiffer. But again, the dress was absolutely beautiful and I will be wearing it for as many other occasions as I can!

The side zipper bumps out at the hip. Totally not flattering at all! Arm holes were too deep on me and the dress was long in the torso on me. I’m 5’4 130 lbs. Based on other dresses by this brand I sized up one size to an 8. I don’t think a 6 would have fit me in the hips.

I bought this to wear to a wedding. The fabric is really nice and drapes well. I returned it because it was too tight in the hips. If I were to get a larger size I think the armholes would be too big. I'm slim but don't have a bust to make it fit well on me. I loved the fabric, texture, print and velvet areas.

I purchased this dress for two different fall weddings coming up. The photos do NOT do it justice. It is even more beautiful in person. I typically wear a 6, but ordered an 8 because I wasn't sure how much stretch the fabric would have. The 8 was a little big, but the 6 would have been too tight around the chest area. Just got it back from my seamstress and this dress now fits like a dream. For reference, I am 5'5" and weigh 134 pounds. I am very excited to wear this to the events and hopefully other occasions in the future. Purchased a cashmere wrap to wear, as both ceremonies are outdoors. It just might be one of my favorite dresses in my closet!

I bought the dress to wear to a welcome cocktail party for the bride and groom this November. The dress fits and drapes nicely, a little big in the hips, but doable. I like the burned out velvet fabric and how the colors are definitely for fall. It seems as though it will be comfortable when I wear it to the party.

The first dress I ordered had a poorly sewn side zipper and hem that was starting to fray. I reordered the dress but still found the side zipper to be bumpy and poorly sewn. I am usually happy with the quality of the dresses I order from Donna Karan so I was very surprised.

So gorgeous! I bought this for rehearsal welcome dinner for my son’s wedding. I cannot wait to wear it!
