Not a fan
I have owned some Bose quiet comfort earbuds for years. They were the ones in the oval shaped case, and they are more oval than round. They have been terrific. I absolutely love them. They are comfortable to wear and easy to operate. I can’t say the same for the new small round ones that I have just bought. They are uncomfortable no matter what fitting I use. They are also much harder to operate, just adjusting the volume is a pain. Sometimes it works first go, sometimes it doesn’t. I would never have replaced my originals, but the battery is failing.

Non-intuitive tutorials and app
I am excited to have noise-canceling earbuds, and happy that there are multiple fit options. The sound quality is excellent. My biggest complaint is with "manuals." I think the user tutorials on the Bose website are geared to people who have used earbuds before, and to be honest, they assume too much knowledge on the part of a new user! The phone app is NOT intuitive, especially when trying to set up two devices. I had to rely on non-Bose YouTube tutorials to figure out the process and still am not sure I have it set up correctly. I have a 7-YO Quiet Comfort headset that is much easier to use and connects to both my iPhone and iPad at the same time - so easy! I was going to take the new earbuds with me on a European trip next month, but the confusing app and general process has convinced me to stick with the headset.

Not great
Seems to disconnect randomly, if you take it out only one connects so you need the case again to connect. Weird noises sometimes too. I do not recommend.

Earbuds
Been looking and listening to all types of ear buds for a while. These have to be the most comfortable earbuds to wear. As for the quality of sound that comes from them is second to none. With the added noise cancellation these are the best earbuds I have ever purchased.

New
The sound is great and they are comfortable. I haven't had them long enough yet, but the mic isn't that great for the person at the other end to hear clearly (this is my only concern so far). They definatly cancel most all of the outside noise, so far I have no problems with the battery life. I not abusive with stuff like this so I don't know about the durability yet.

The connection between my phone and the quietconfort breaks away for a namo second every 15 to 20 songs.
That never happened with my old bose earphones
