They look as advertised and are true to size, maybe even a little large. My European size is 38, which is equivalent to a US 7.5, but I usually find that a US 8 fits me much better. In this case, though, the 7.5 was perfect, with even a little extra room in the front. So in my opinion, there’s no need to size up.
The definitely rin big. I ordered a half size down and my heel was still slipping a little so I added an insole.
