Printer has been flawless printing on everything from matte, thick cotton rag paper, and glossy papers. Continually shocked at how much this printer has made my enjoy my photography more.
I bought this printer as an upgrade for my Pixma Pro-100. I'm still on the fence about it. My main issues with it is that it is much slower than the Pixma Pro-100 (it seems) and it really uses a lot of ink! Frankly I can'y figure out where it goes so fast! This might be a great printer for home use but I own a studio and I just don't think it is going to cut it. Time will tell. If you buy one buy extra ink!
The person that helped me setup my new printer was excellent. Thanks for your help.
Great printer, easy to set up. Makes excellent prints.
I have had this printer for a few months now, and I love it. The directions for set up were straightforward, and the process was smooth. As a hobbyist photographer, I primarily print from PhotoShop or Lightroom on Red River or Hahnemūle paper, and I have been pleased with the results. Both color and black-and-white prints turn out well.
I bought this printer to make my life easier as an artist but it has made my life so much harder.
When I can get all the complicated setting to match and everything to communicate...even though I hard wired this printer...I love the result. However there have been too many glitches...
Great printer but with every Canon printer I have owned (5+) the software needs work. Often just doesn't make sense or is complicated. My Pro9000 is simpler to replace ink than either my Pr0 300 and Pro 310.
I spent two days trying to get the printer driver to install with no success. I hate this thing.
The Pro-310 is the first 'professional' printer and has, thus far, fulfilled my desire to print out images that were to be both vivid and accurate. It's a printer I highly recommend for newcomers to the world of photo printing. Although I considered the Pro 200s as my first pro printer, a fellow who worked at the camera store where I got my first mirrorless camera recommended that I get a printer that used pigment-based ink instead of dye-based ink if I were to sell my prints. The fellow's advice proved to be spot-on. This printer is easy to use from the start. I used the print mode from my Affinity Photo II and the Canon professional layout program. The printer worked fine without a fuss from these two programs. I have used various Canon papers. I would recommend a luster or semi-gloss photo paper at this point. One quick caveat: Although (using letter-sized photo papers) this printer is generally a miser as far as ink consumption is concerned, it does use a fair amount of black photo ink. If you are planning to use much black and white printer, be prepared for much use of black inks. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this printer.
