Tumi Men's Alpha Bravo Surveillance Backpack

I absolutely 💯 love my surveillance BP, I love the distinct look, the many compartments. I've had mine for 2yrs now, it's rugged, I've taken it to the firehouse every day no rips, no tears no problems! Highly recommend!

Tumi quality has gone downhill. It is not just this one backpack, but rather over the past year, I have purchased the Detrick, the Nomadic (and a replacement due to a warranty issue), and now the Surveillance, where the zipper pull paint starts coming off almost immediately. What I thought was an issue with a particular batch, has led me to conclude that this issue is more pervasive. And no, it's not that I'm rough on my bags - I have older Alpha/Alpha Bravo products with the same style zipper that do not show this kind of wear, despite hundreds of more pulls on the zippers. Now, about the bag itself. The design is fantastic, and organization works very well. In fact, that's what makes the cheapening of the zipper pulls even more frustrating. It's otherwise a 5-star product, but the fact that something so visible was 'optimized' to reduce supplier/production costs seems like such a short-sighted way to maintain/grow margins.
