Shalimar has been my go-to for decades. My mom was a shalimar lady and this scent remains near and dear. The intensity of this perfume is wonderful! Sensual, romantic and intense. Love it

The scent is strong but also long-lasting with warm notes that I might not gravitate towards so much in spring and summer, but will use it as a transitional scent heading into fall.

It also has a powdery smell. Would be best for a black tie event or with formal attire. The packaging is also very elegant. Long lasting scent, even after running errands all morning and afternoon. It is not my usual scent profile, but I will use it on formal occasions.

The vanilla is not too sweet or overpowering and the floral scent complements the vanilla, rather than competing with it. The wearability of the scent lasts a while although I wouldn’t say it lasts all day. The bottle is beautiful. I loved this perfume so much I used it as my wedding day scent!

It does become warmer and more vanilla comes through as it wears. It is a complex scent that I might wear for a dressier night out.

I’ve never smelled the original Shalimar, so I can’t quite compare the two, but I really enjoyed this fragrance on its own. The opening is definitely very powdery with vanilla that feels rich without being overly sweet. I especially love the powdery quality, it gives this fragrance a soft, elegant feel. The vanilla is subtle, in a good way. It has a soft projection, but I can still smell it on me hours after applying it. If you love warm powdery vanilla fragrance this is definitely one to try!
