Superb replacement for “non-stick” cookware, however, it requires that you pay attention to the manufacturer’s excellent instruction set for seasoning and cleaning the pan. Follow the instructions and you will enjoy the versatile pan
The best-selling Carbon Steel Frying Pan comes pre-seasoned, taking care of the first two seasonings-the hardest ones-so you can experience the difference carbon steel makes on day one. The Carbon Steel combines the heat retention of cast iron with the control and maneuverability of Stainless Clad, resulting in a natural non-stick alternative. We stamp carbon steel into a thin disc that's half the weight of cast iron but every bit as durable-so it seasons faster, responds quicker, and is rugged enough for the grill or open flame. With sloping walls and a wide surface, this pan provides maximum heat contact for high-heat searing.

Very pleased so far. I am pretty good with cast iron use and seasoning. There are similarities and differences. The steel uses even less heat and is up to temp very quickly. It also cools fairly quickly which can be handy. I've not mastered it yet but am using it as much as possible. I seasoned three times and used the pan a bit. I repeated that process and expect to go one more round.
This pan is excellent- it requires special attention, but what it provides is worth the effort... High heat and then some. I have no problems recommending this pan. I am very happy- I have already used (3) different way to cook with this pan. Respect the instructions and you'll be just fine!
I’ve had the 12” skillet for several years now. I’m used to cooking with cast iron. Having said that, I’ve had issues with this skillet. I know how to season cast iron, but I’m having issues with this skillet. The seasoning process is useless. It’s just a nasty, ugly, messy pan. However, it still works. Lol! I don’t use it very often because of the small flat surface. I wish it were larger. The high sides are nice for a couple of my recipes. If the flat part was larger,!I would use it a lot more. It cooks more like a wok. Not what I was expecting. Still, it’s a quality piece of cookware. If I had a gas range, it would work better. For a glass top electric stove top though, I would have gone with a different style pan. All in all, I m happy with it for the 2 recipes I make in it.
Terrible pan. Everything sticks, rusting after 2 useses! Forget this purchase!!
This is a really well made piece of cookware. They say it takes about 20 cooks for the non-stick to build up but it was very non-stick from the start.
I am with my new skillet. I did season it before using & now it is completely what I wanted. I use it almost every day & the clean up is so easy. I'm happy. Review title
Great product. Started working great from the start. You can really feel the quality. Very happy with purchase
After receiving Made-in's Carbon Steel Frying Pan I threw away all of my old frying pans. This will last me a lifetime. Deep dished, beautifully crafted and not to heavy.
I am returning this pan unused. I purchased a smaller one, and found it very hard to use. Therefore, I assume the larger one is difficult to use too. It may be fine for a gourmet chef, I do not know. But for me, an average every day chef, it is not seasoned properly and not easy to understand how to season it. It easily burns and black stuff seems to come off into food. This is not a good choice for me, if it is anything like the 8 inch version of the exact same product.
