Taste can tell you a fair bit about the freshness and quality of whole food supplements so I opened the capsules to taste the contents. Although I rarely eat meat and I can't bear the taste of livers and kidneys, this was actually strangely palatable, with a taste of lamb. The taste is a bit gamier in some batches than others though. The idea of taking a raw, dessicated glandular powder didn't initially appeal to me but the freeze-drying helps preserve all the complex nutritional factors, hormones and digestive enzymes found in the gland so they are available to support my own sub-functioning pancreas.

after first 5 uses I haven't observed any difference in reduction of bloating or reduction in digestive time. it doesn't seem to have an immediate effect as a digestive aid but perhaps it slowly heals the pancreas and works over months. I was taking it 30-50 mins before eating.

You should know that the porcine is even pricier and that the lamb is 85% as effective. If for some reason you can't eat pork, this is the one. If you are taking these just for digestion I would tell you to take the Now brand if you eat pork. A person who take this brand should know why it's the right one despite the price. Do your research.
