Organic French Roast Coffee, Whole Bean, Dark Roast, 16 oz (454 g)

This is a gourmet level coffee. It creates an exquisite cup of coffee, although has a slightly understated body despite an exceptional flavour. The beans are just ... well, beautiful, having been roasted to perfection, dark brown but not burnt, shiny but not oily. The smell is overwhelming. On my first pour over cup made with a V60, I used a standard amount of 15 grams of coffee to 250 water. Because the body is slightly "thinner" than another coffee that I've purchased here repeatedly, I was surprised that I needed to adjust my brew to add an additional 2-3 grams of coffee per cup - and to decrease the water by 10 grams. The result is a heavenly, refined, and delicious cup of coffee. I imagine that a French press would bring about a slightly fuller bodied cup, and I'm going to make my next cup in my moka pot. Even at the "discounted" price this is not cheap, but it is still a great coffee at a reasonable price, and a very good value.

I've tried many french roast coffees available at iherb, but this one was the first I loved. We had a problem buying our usual dark roast locally, so I tried this one on the off-chance it might work, and it did@ It came very fresh in its packaging, and the beans were shiny and dark, with the oiliness one needs in a good dark roast. They were also slightly sweet, the way we like our french roast. The 2 packages I ordered disappeared quickly, Would definitely purchase again. I liked that they came in smallish packages, which meant they kept their freshness.

Was looking for a new French roast coffee since I cannot get the one that I love delivered to the country that I’m currently living in. Overall, it is smooth. Just wish it was a bit stronger.
