As we age, our melatonin levels drop. This restores the melatonin that used to make us feel drowsy at bedtime. I take this product few times a week. Large doses of melatonin can impair the immune system, so I would not say take two of these every night. For occasional sleeplessness. This is great and the price here can't be beat. Five mg is a good dosage.
I take 1 cap prior to bed. Sometimes I wake up during the night. If it's not too late I may take a 2nd cap. The caps are much easier to swallow than tabs, which also taste terrible

Not recommend for women TTC, but it seems okay for men. The dosage is slightly higher than the recommended 3mg, so it works well for restorative sleep for women when not TTC or for their male partner. The sleep quality feels better although there is a lot of dreaming. Waking up feeling more refreshed than if I take a sleeping pill, so the benefit is clear with melatonin.
