lip & PROTECT Pigment-Rich Hydrating Lipstick with SPF 60+

Super creamy and comfortable to wear! I like that Casette is kind of your lips but turned up a notch, with a little more pink - for my neutral fair skin. I haven’t had any issues with the lipstick breaking like I’ve seen online, but I’ve also been extra gentle with it when applying. I only had to reapply twice all day and it layered really nicely - not like some lipsticks where you need to fully take it off for the second application to look decent. It does transfer, but I would expect that from a traditional style lipstick and it wasn’t horrible.

Unfortunately this was an expensive miss. It broke on the first use and now it just makes a mess when I try to use it. It’s super soft, so beware. The formula is ok. It’s a little drying for me and has that typical lipstick flavor, but I love the fact it is SPF 60, which is the main reason I bought it. I just with they made a clear balm!

Wanted to love this as I am a huge fan of Ciele’s other products. However, the lipstick broke upon first application even though I gently applied. The formula is just way too soft. There is also a gritty texture. If Ciele reformulates, I will try again! I ended up returning the lipstick for a full refund.

The color is nothing like the picture and the lipstick came completely smooshed and feels not great on the lips. Over priced

I loved the color of Casette. It also has a minty type flavor/tingle I liked. The packaging is great. BUT… and a big con is the consistency doesn’t stay in form. I ordered one on line and it came completely melted. I thought ok it’s summer bad on me let me go to store. The store samples were all kind of misshapen but I thought it was from rough customers. I got exchanged my melted lipstick for a new one and it was misshapen like the samples. It’s very soft and doesn’t maintain shape. I also felt a little grit when I rubbed my lips. I will continue to use bc I love ciele and love the color but I would not repurchase or recommend to anyone. Sorry.

When I heard Ciele was coming out with this SPF lipstick, I was so excited! Finally a brand who wasn’t putting out an SPF lip balm in one of those messy application tubes. I brought my order in the house as soon as it was delivered. I opened it and found it had melted to the point of it falling out of the packaging as soon as I rolled it up. I put it back together and stuck it in the fridge. I was able to try it that night. Beautiful color, slight minty flavor, but not overwhelming. No SPF taste at all. Very creamy formula but urine after being in refrigerator all day, it’s TOO creamy. It’s NOT a true lipstick. It’s another balm disguised as a lipstick. As I was applying it, it kept putting out too much product despite how light I was applying it. Knowing all that I know now about this product, I would purchase another color. But not at the same price. I love Ciele products especially their skin tint. But this one needs a little bit more work. 

Love the color. Was excited about the SPF. I bought one. Used once and broke. Bought a second as thought maybe a fluke. Broke again. Too soft. Once you swipe on lips breaks. Please Ciele fix the problem as a good concept

I was so excited for this launch as I love Ciele and almost use it exclusively, obsessed with the idea of SPF in everything! I’ll start with the positives- the packaging is phenomenal, what an experience. The light mint scent is very nice, no SPF taste. And the formula didn’t dry out my lips. Cons, and ultimately I returned for these reasons- arrived partially melted and has a gritty texture. I’m not sure if that’s from shipping in the heat or not. Even after it cooled to room temp, it’s still really soft, as others have mentioned. The color Cassette wasn’t quite right for me, too pink. I’m not sure any of the colors are really calling to me the more I study. Might try ordering again once the temps cool down. Disappointed that it’s not carried in store. In fact, my local Sephora hardly carries any Ciele products, which sucks, I love this brand so much 😭

I had really high hopes for this lipstick, because I love this brand and I have been searching for a cool sun-protection lipstick that doesn’t taste terrible. This is al that. It doesn’t taste like sunscreen. However, I wonder if the formula just wasn’t suited for summer travel. My lipstick bullet was loose in the tube. I was able to reattach it, but the formula is quite soft. The shade I chose was Casette, which is described as a dusty rose. Usually this shade works as a my-lips-but-better type color for me. However, this pulled really warm on my complexion. It is almost an orange-nude based pink, and not exactly what I expected. The shade looks different to me in the promotional photos. I am using it, and it works well for summer. The warm tone works while I have a bit of a tan. Without that extra color, I’m not sure this will work for me. The photo is before I tanned, so you can see the color. Really appreciate the subtle mint in the formula. I think I would really like this more in a different shade.

The lipstick is very fragile.Make sure to put in the freezer for a little before applying. This lipstick broke on me. Sephora required me to send it back for a refund. USE CAUTION WHEN APPLYING. Press lightly. Otherwise, the colors are beautiful. NO SPF scent! yay. Gave three stars because this formula should have been put into a slim packaging.
