Skin Affair Soft Glow Cushion Foundation

I really love this foundation. I have dry skin and find that my skin looks just as fresh at the end of the day.

FANTASTIC foundation in terms of wear, consistency and finish. It stays on beautifully for solid 8-10hrs. On the first day I tried it I got 2 compliments on how nice my skin looked. Now, the shades?? Uhg, not the best, unfortunately. I feel like 1) you need to go in and physically get matched by someone who knows what they're talking about and 2) wear it for few hours and see how it turns out because yes, it oxidizes and may look different. I got matched to LC7 and at first I feel like it looks dark and yellowish-orangy but then after a bit it blends in and evens out. The application is also something I have to get used to (I typically use finger & foundation brush) but do follow the instructions on how to apply it, it makes a difference. I'd say give it a try. Another new discovery of mine is the new Dior tint foundation (round container) - phenomenal but totally different application & experience, also worth trying. That's why I'll be going between these two.

I’ve never written a review on here mostly because i’m lazy Lol! But felt the need to this time. I’ve been trying to find “My” foundation for a while! Now that i’m older and my skin has changed even after a Co2 in January. My skin has become combo, with dry patches due to retin-a use and just hormonal changes. I also have textured skin on my forehead and cheek area with larger pores as well here. Well all of my go to favourite foundations and skin tints are no longer looking good. Which sucks! because I have spent so much money like insane amount of money trying to find something that fits my new issues. I have tried oldies, high end, and drug store brands. My go to used to be Lisa Eldridge and Dior. I’ve tried MANY new ones within the last 6 months as well. Including Lawless, Dior etc Many!! Nope. Even Korean cushion foundations which ended up being very dry on my combo oily skin and hung onto every texture. Well YSL I’m shocked! I prep with milky toner, anti aging serum from musley, dermalogica booster, prequel serum and dermalogica active moist along with an eye serum. Thin layers! Then spot priming only the pores and textured areas with the new Dior blurring primer (this rocks!!! btw) Let it all sit for 5 min then go in with this foundation and my bk beauty foundation brush not the sponge that comes with it. Not even joking I barely have to use concealer or eye corrector! It is buildable even on textured skin! Looks natural, beautiful skin finish. Feels like nothing! And lasts all day with setting spray. I only dab setting powder (dior translucent loose powder or huda) on the areas i get oily. I started with a neutral which was fine but not perfect for me so tried this more on the cool side which I feel is what i’d see as neutral on me. The Ln5 seemed too warm and too light on me. In winter i’d mix both together on me. I do wish they had refills on this. Your finish will depend on your prep. This is a Love for me.

Not good for me at all. Was patchy and dry and cakey. Had to return.

Product is beautiful but the packaging for it needs to be improved. The “lid” component doesn’t fully latch so the product dries out after a month. I also don’t understand why Sephora doesn’t carry the refills for this? I hate to throw away the beautiful compact for this just to buy a refill. Seems like a waste.

This is my go-to foundation currently. It provides excellent coverage without the weight of a traditional liquid foundation. I have been singing its praises to everyone. Love love love!

It’s difficult to get everything that you want in a foundation but you can with this YSL cushion foundation! It is so light, the shade is just perfect for a change and it is buildable and the coverage is amazing ! It has been years since I have been so happy with a foundation.

Not long-lasting at all. I was excited to try this product because I liked a cushion foundation from a less popular brand, but this one accentuates texture that I don’t have and it’s gone within 3 hours around my nose and chin. Even skin tints last longer and better on me. Maybe it’s because I have dry skin? I don’t know. I was really excited for this product and packaging is so pretty.

I really like this foundation. It blends effortlessly, provides great coverage, and lasts all day. I prefer using a different brush than the one included, but the product itself is excellent. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

I was excited to try this foundation but it was a disappointment. First, I haven’t been able to find a good enough shade match. I purchased the shade LN1 and it’s a little bit pale on me. The next neutral light shade YSL makes is LN4 and it’s far too peachy on me. I don’t understand why there aren’t other neutral light options. IF there was a shade LN2 it would probably be perfect, but they don’t make it! The other thing I don’t like about this foundation is it makes all of my pores noticeable. It kind of sits on my skin in an odd way. For reference, I have normal/dry, aging skin. While this foundation doesn’t settle into my fine lines, it makes my pores look huge, and I honestly don’t have enlarged pores to begin with. I tried using different primers and skin prep but haven’t been able to figure out how to get this foundation applied properly.
