The Mini Non-Aerosol Dry Shampoo Powder for Oily Hair

Even with all its flaws, it's the best dry shampoo I've ever used. I've tried all of them. I can put this in my hair and it transforms from flat and blah to this crazy amazing celebrity looking hair. Others can add volume but end up making my hair look like straw. Now for the flaws. This is gross but it creates head zits. I'm not lowering the stars because what it does for the shiny healthy freshly washed look is just too good to lower it. I'm going to buy a separate dry shampoo just for the very top of my scalp and use this every single place else. The smell is gross (old lady) but again would you care if you had hair like a supermodel? Anyway I hope this helps. I've wasted so much time trying to find a good one! It makes your hair as shiny and healthy and shapes it like a hair commercial. I have dark brown hair and there is no white cast at all.

I love the idea of this product, but it did not work for me in reality. It made my hair really gritty and even though it took away the grease, it would lay really flat because it’s a really heavy powder. I think, especially if someone had fine hair this would not work well (mine is more medium). It also made my hair very static-y. In my opinion, the smell is also really unpleasant. It reminds me of a perfume a grandma would wear. Two stars because it did make my hair less greasy, but I really did not like it otherwise.

Applicator: 1 star, would not recommend. I bought the "travel spray" which arrived already leaking powder everywhere. The spray alternates between barely spraying anything and spraying enough for a Christmas snow window display. One good point, I guess, it does look like you can refill it if you wanted to. Formula: 3 stars. I got this because the formula contains persimmon tannin and that tannin is specifically good at neutralizing 2-nonenal, or "old person smell" which I'm a little obsessive about. It's unlikely there would be remotely enough tannin in a powder to do much, but I needed a dry shampoo anyway, so I thought I'd try it. That said, it doesn't perform any better (or worse) than Tap Secret or any of the other powder dry shampoos I've tried. It smells good but strong enough to interfere with a fragrance if I wanted to wear one. Solving the applicator problem: I had a nearly empty Tap Secret container, so I just poured the Crown Affair powder into that which works so much better than the spray bottle. I still wouldn't recommend tapping directly on to the scalp because application is still so uneven. I tap it onto a brush and then brush my hair for best results. I'm happy enough with this solution, but I probably won't re-purchase. It's way to expensive for how it performs.

I don't love this product. It made my hair feel rough and gross and didn't even help with giving me that slight refreshed hair look. The applicator also gets covered int he product. Using the product is a mess. I am going back to my tried-and-true Bastiste,

This product works well for my fine and flat hair. A little goes a long way and it does not build up like some other products. The scent is lovely and the packaging feels luxe. I ended up also buying the travel size.

The full sized dry shampoo and brush combo is my holy grail dry shampoo. I have fine, blonde hair that gets dry on the ends but oily at the scalp. I use the full sized brush combo at home every day (with leave in conditioner and the hair oil on my ends) and it's perfect. LOVE the mini version for travel! The non-aerosol packaging means it doesn't have to go in my liquids bag and I don't have to live without my dry shampoo on vacation. If you don't press too hard the product comes out slower but it's easy to move around. Love it!

I was so excited about this as a lover of the original dry shampoo but the application is unfortunately super messy and not user friendly! Way too much product comes out and in one spot- the brush in the original is what makes it super easy to disperse. Especially on dark hair this is a toughie!

My favorite dry shampoo hands down! I have been using it for over a year now and recommend it.

Meh. I wish the formula was not brush on. The brush just makes my hair staticky and doesn't pickup the product well and the brush in turn doesn't age well because you have to really jam it in there. Doesn't blend into dark hair with the brush, I have to use my hands.
