I've looked at the reviews for this product and I think somehow there are reviews for different product(s) mixed in here. Also, there is no way on earth this serum could be described as rough or gritty. This is my go to and I can't live without it. Other worldly smooth and absorbs deep into my skin. Leave me with a glow and it is fantastic under makeup, although I don't feel like I really need much on my face with this serum working its magic. Definitely reduces lines and I should know - I am 62. I see a huge improvement in the health of my skin. I hope Kiehl's never modifies or discontinues this product, I would be lost.

I liked the texture of this serum at first and that it feels so cream based. However it stings on my sensitive skin and broke me out within a few days.
So I’ve been using this daily (in the AM) for about 3 months now and I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin - brighter, fine lines have diminished and overall just a boost in my complexion. I pair it with the matching eye cream and VOILA. Best skin ever.
This smells DISGUSTING. Like a rusty nail, metallic. As others have mentioned it has a silicon base, so it feels very smooth, but just sits on top of your skin.
I just purchased my second bottle and I love it. It's very hydrating and I notice a difference if I skip it. I do have sensitive skin and am prone to acne, but I never experienced any irritation or outbreaks like others have. I also don't feel the smell is that strong? All I can say is, if you're on the fence and have the opportunity to grab a sample give it a try. If you aren't one of those who find it irritating, it's likely going to be life cha going for you.
My mother recently said my skin has never looked better, and I attribute that in large part to this product. I've been using it for about 2 years, twice a day.
I’ve been using this for 10 years and I don’t know what’s up with it lately. It leaves a film on your face, feels greasy, doesn’t sit well under makeup. I swear it clogs pores. It’s sooooo greasy now They need to make this light and non pore clogging.
This is a great vitamin c serum. Very effective at smoothing texture and erasing hyperpigmentation. It tingles as you spread it on your face. That is how I know it is working. The tingling doesn’t last for long and it is by no means unbearable but it is something you should be aware of. Highly sensitive skin types might not like this. I recommend getting a small sample from the local Sephora near you and trying it first. The only other vit c serum I have tried that was this good was the Angie’s Actives vitamin c serum. Which is also very effective and probably better priced. You get a lot of product in the large size Khiels bottle, but you will pay for it. Regardless, if something actually works for what it is intended, to me it is often worth the splurge.
I like what is does to my skin - it makes it glow. However I wonder if the glow (blush) is due to irritation. I’m okay with the heat feeling but it also feels like sandpaper when I apply it to my face. It doesn’t feel that way on mu hand so i figure my face is too sensitive for it. However I really don’t have sensitive skin
Using it for years. Replenished for the fourth time now. It makes a big difference. Stopped using it for a few months and just started again. Face is glowing and complexion is just much better. One of the few staples I carry
